Bio

Joe Andriano is a member of the House Judiciary Committee of the Vermont House of Representatives and an attorney focusing on estate planning and business law, with an emphasis on the formation of employee-owned cooperative businesses. He has also had a long career in education, teaching at the middle school, high school, and university levels. He was an Assistant Professor of Law at Clarkson University, an Assistant Dean at Loyola Marymount University, and a Professor of the Practice at Middlebury College. He is presently an Adjunct Professor at Vermont Law and Graduate School. His work in higher education has focused on law and business ethics.


He is Chair of Orwell’s Planning Commission and Development Review Board, a member of the Executive Committee and chair of the Economic Development Committee of the Addison County Regional Planning Commission, a member of the Addison County Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors, and he volunteers in other capacities as well. He served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Armenia, was a senate-confirmed gubernatorial appointee in New York as a member of the Ogdensburg Bridge and Port Authority Board of Directors, was the former chair of the Town Auditors Committee of Bethel, Vermont, and was a co-founder of Royalton Community Radio in South Royalton, Vermont.

Joe holds a BA in Philosophy from Oberlin College, a JD from Vermont Law School, and a teaching certificate from the Upper Valley Educators Institute. He lives in Orwell with his wife, Sarah.
